DocsManaging a project

Delete a project

Permanent, immediate, and not recoverable by us. Worth reading the list first.

Where this lives: Dashboard → Project → Delete

Delete project sits at the bottom of the project page and asks you to confirm. There is no trash to restore from afterwards.

What is removed

The site stops being served, every release is deleted from disk, the deploy history and its logs go with them, and the record of the project is dropped. Its address becomes available for someone else to claim.

Before you press it

  1. 01

Point the domain somewhere else first

If a live domain still points here, visitors get an error the moment the project goes. Move the DNS record before deleting, not after.

  2. 02

Copy anything you need from the logs

Deploy logs are deleted with the project.

  3. 03

    Consider just leaving it

A project you are not deploying to costs nothing to keep and holds on to its address.

Stuck on one of these?

Send us the repository and the last few lines of the log. We will get it live with you rather than send you a help article.
