Questions people ask

The ones that come up most, answered as briefly as they can honestly be.

Do I need a credit card?
There is nothing to pay for yet — plans are still being prepared. Ask us what you are deploying and we will say whether it fits.
Can I try it before paying?
Nothing is on sale yet, so there is nothing to pay or cancel. Talk to us and we will get a site live with you.
Can I deploy a private repository?
Tailnet staging deploys public repositories pasted into the form. Private repositories need a GitHub App and are unavailable here.
Can I host a Laravel or Express app?
Not yet — ChimeLab serves static output, so there is no process left running to answer requests. Tell us what you are deploying and we will say whether it fits.
Does every push deploy automatically?
No. Tailnet staging uses manual deploys from the dashboard. Push deploys return on a public deployment with GitHub App support.
How long does a deploy take?
Under a minute for most sites. A large dependency tree makes the install step the slow part, not the build.
Does a deploy take my site down?
No. The new build is published only after it succeeds, so a failed deploy leaves the previous version serving.
Can I use a domain I bought somewhere else?
Yes, and you do not need to transfer it. Add it in ChimeLab and create the one DNS record the domain panel shows you.
Do I have to buy an SSL certificate?
No. Certificates are issued and renewed automatically once your domain resolves here.
Is there a contract?
No contract and no annual lock-in. Plans are not open yet, so nothing is being charged in the meantime.
Can I move to another host later?
Yes. Your code is in your own GitHub repository and your domain is yours — moving is changing one DNS record.
Is support really in Bahasa Indonesia?
Yes, on WhatsApp, from a person rather than a ticket queue. These docs are in English; the help is not.
Where are the servers?
In Indonesia. One region, which is the fastest place to be for an Indonesian audience.

Stuck on one of these?

Send us the repository and the last few lines of the log. We will get it live with you rather than send you a help article.
